When You Adopt
You save the life of an animal that is homeless
You give the gift of love, and you receive the gift of unconditional love
You have a best friend always at your side
You help save the life of the next homeless animal that needs space at the shelter
You help eliminate "backyard breeders" and "puppy mills"
You are an Ambassador of Hope and educate your community about rescue
Currently, the state of North Carolina ranks 4th in the USA for the most cats and dogs killed.
Five states account for 50% of shelter animals being killed in America. In order, these states include TX, CA, FL, NC, and GA.
Before You Adopt
Our job is to place our animals in loving homes where they will thrive. Animals have unique personalities, just like humans. Not every human is a fit for every other human; therefore, not every animal is a perfect fit for your family.
Be patient and get to know the animal you want to bring into your family. You can follow us on social media and learn about the animals we highlight. You can visit our website and read our pet profiles. Lastly, you can make an appointment to come to our facility and meet our cats and dogs.

Is everyone in your family in agreement about bringing a new pet into the home?
Have you made plans for how you will care for your new pet? Where will the new pet sleep? Where will the new pet stay at night? What happens when you go on vacation? Can you afford routine and unexpected veterinary care? Do you have time to exercise and provide enrichment for your pet?
A Pet is a Lifetime Commitment.

Submit your online application (click the button below)
You must be 21 years of age to submit an adoption application.

Once you submit your online application, please allow 3-5 business days for us to review your application and notify you. Any dogs/pets already in the home must be current on required vaccinations, rabies, applicable preventatives, and spayed/neutered. If you have extenuating circumstances regarding why your current pets are not spayed/neutered, you can explain them on the application.
We will follow up with the Vet you list on your application. If you rent, we will contact your landlord.
All applications must be completed in entirety and truthfully. Anything else will delay or void the application.
All adoptions are a two-week (14-day) Foster to Adopt period. This gives you the opportunity to see how the animal fits in your family and your lifestyle. If they get along with your other pets, any children, guests, or roommates.
After the Foster to Adopt period, you can finalize the adoption.
All animals must be spayed/neutered before adoptions are finalized; therefore, the Foster to Adopt period may extend past two weeks if we are waiting for a surgery appointment.
