What do I need to do if I am interested in adopting a cat or kitten?
Fill out and submit an application online. Please note that it may take us several days to process your application. The pet will remain with the SPCA while the application is processed until approved. The application process will include a full background check, and a home visit will be required. The SPCA wants the best situation for the adopter and the pet.
Please be aware that there may be other applications ahead of yours for the pet you are interested in.
The SPCA will process your application and notify you regarding approval as quickly as possible.
Our "foster to adopt" program allows you and the animal to adjust to each other in a two-week trial home setting. You can work with the animal to transition into your home, lifestyle, and schedule during this time. Our available animals in "foster to adopt" are listed as "adoption pending" on our website. Sometimes, foster to adopt doesn't work out, and our animals become available for adoption again. You may complete an application for an animal listed as "adoption pending," but please be aware this animal is not at our facility, and the adoption will likely be finalized.
Thank you for your interest in adopting a homeless animal.
The Adoption Fee for a Cat or Kitten is $200
Includes spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccines, and HIV/Feline Leukemia tested.
*Animals in foster to adoption are listed on our website as "adoption pending." This is a trial home situation or an animal waiting to be spayed/neutered. Adoptions do fall through, so you can submit an application for an animal listed as "adoption pending," but please be aware there are no guarantees. *
If you are interested in fostering, please contact www.triadspca.org or call 336-375-3222.
Short-term fostering is available. Short-term situations can be a few days to a few weeks. We appreciate your support.
